My words may not be enough, as I could never give these achievers justice How can I write about greatness like theirs…The land where the alphabet was created is a proud with this phenomenon that matched the universe’ phenomena in the 20th century It astonished the minds and made the emotions and feelings kneel before a blessing from heaven that shone over the Family making it a real legend Blessings kept on falling down on the parents since the first moment they understood that what God had united, no man can divide…The pure Edward and Naema embraced the falling blessings and they were given the secret of all secrets…God blessed them and grant them 12 children of boys and girls As if this number was to remind them of the Disciples of Christ…The sign was revealed and the message was clear: to spread love and peace…They were blessed with the gift of languages And they could speak many of them. Edward, Naema and the children Micheline, Dora, Rene, Yolla, Fadia, Nadia, Roger, Norma, Randa, Hania and Fadi Carried their blessings and emerged with the beginning of the seventies From Lebanon to the world by the finest of means: The music, the only mean capable of achieving the destiny and purifying souls and minds…the small buds blossomed and spread creativity their skies opened up and they became shining stars in the sky of fine art. They were Lebanon’s symbol of love in the times of brilliance and glory and his symbol of peace in the times of war and conspiracy…Their singing eased the pain of war and stopped the bleeding of despair…They were the living conscience of the country and the people and the beating heart of the emigrants, present in their souls….They became the hope of a hurt Lebanon… They travelled the world and performed on the biggest of stages Never tempted by the medals nor the awards For they were not seeking a worldly glory, they praised God through their chants…Their philosophy is in their simplicity…Their greatness is in their humbleness…They were distinct by their modern lyrics and music…They made of the song an international language long before it became so…they carried, and still carrying, the symbol of culture from generation to generation… The Bendaly Family is the symbol of a genuine Lebanese family that would never kneel before the change of Time… A proud coherent Family… honored in the minds of their admirers…Everlasting in the book of Fine Art…The Bendaly Family… After a third of a century of creativity, we hope that the Ministry of Culture would honor your History in a museum where tourists and art fans would have access to your valuable achievements in writing and art For you are rare if not one of your kind in the world…Rest in Peace, those who left us of this blessed Family…And may God protect those who are still alive among us…We are hoping that the coming generations of this Family preserve the Legacy of this unique phenomenon…
أين أنا منهم لأكتب عنهم ...شرف لي ان تخط خبرتي الفتية كلمات مهما علت لن تطال عظمة عطاءاتهم أين أنا منهم لأكتب عنهم... أخاف ان يخونني القول لأنني مهما قلت لن أوفي ابدا" حق هؤلاء المبدعين أين أنا منهم لأكتب عنهم ... يفتخر بلد الحرف والأبجدية بظاهرة ضاهت ظواهرالعالم كله في القرن العشرين أذهلت العقول فإنحنت الأحاسيس والمشاعر أمام بركة سماوية حلت على عائلة فجعلت منها أسطورة واقعية توالت الوزنات تلو الوزنات على ربيّ هذه العائلة منذ تلك اللحظة الاولى لحظة وافقا على ما جمعه الله فلا يفرقه إنسان ...إنهالت نعم الله على ادوار ونعيمة التقيان ووهبهما سر اسرار الكون وأنزل رضاه عليهما فرزقهما بإثني عشر طفلا من صبيان وبنات وكأن هذا العدد اتى ليذكرهما بعدد تلاميذ السيد المسيح وصلت العلامة وكانت الرسالة واضحة لنشروا المحبة والسلام نزلت عليهم موهبة الألسن فنطقوا بلغات عديدة حمل ادوار ونعيمة والأولاد ميشلين - دورا - رينيه - يولا- فاديا- ناديا- روجيه - نورما- رندا- هانيا وفادي زادهم وانطلقوا مع بداية السبعينات من لبنان الى العالم عبر أرقى وسيلة الا وهي الموسيقى التي هي وحدها قادرة أن تحقق الهدف المنشودوتهذب النفوس وتعمم صفاء القلوب إزهرت البراعم ناشرة الأبداعات إتسع رحابهم فأضحوا نجوما" في سماء الفن الأصيل.كانو ا وردة لبنان الحمراء في عزه ومجده وباتوا الزنبقة البيضاء حين أصابت الوطن رصاصات المؤامرة خففت حناجرهم ألم الحرب وأوقفت نزيف اليأس كانوا ضمير الوطن والمواطن وقلب المغتربين القريبين البعيدبن فغدوا أمل لبنان الجريح طافوا العالم وإعتلوا أكبرالمسارح ولم تغرهم الشهادات والتكريمات والجوائزانهم لا يفتشون على مجد دنيوي انما يمجدون الخالق بأعمالهم فلسفتهم في بساطتهم عظمتهم في تواضعهم تميزوا بحداثة الكلمة واللحن والاداءعولموا النغمة قبل أن تتعولم حملوا وما زالوا يحملون راية الثقافة من الأب الى الأحفاد عائلة بندلي هي رمز العائلة اللبنانية الأصيلة التي لا يقوى عليها الدهرهي عائلة متماسكة شامخة مكرمة في أذهان المحبين وخالدة في سجل الفن الراقي عائلة بندلي نتمنى لك لو أن وزارة الثقافة وبعد ثلث قرن عطاء تحفظ تاريخك لأنك نادرة اذ لم تكوني الوحيدة في العالم ضمن متحف يقصده السواح ومحبي الفن والموسبقى والثقافة للأضطلاع على مؤلفاتك الموسيقية والأدبية القيمة رحم الله من رحل من هذه العائلة المباركة وأطال عمر من بقي آملين أن يحافظ أجيال هذه العائلة جيل بعد جيل على هذه الظاهرة الفريدة.....
No matter how much the media had published on the Bendaly Family, and no matter how much it was written about them, they will never give their achievements justice. The Bendaly Family is a group of talented members, with each talent reflects its own integrity and endless creativity. The founders of the Bendaly Family are the late artist Edward Bendaly and the late Naema Bittar, the parents (May they rest in peace). They brought up a unique family and they planted since birth the love of art in the hearts of their children, who became unreachable shining stars in the world of music. All of the three boys and the nine girls are considered a miracle, yet a phenomenon, in the world of art. Having personally worked with the Bendaly’s, I’m confident in my judgment. I worked with them since their very first beginnings and composed for them an enormous number of songs and musicals, like “Camera 77” and the play “Fest”. These shows were their ticket to the Arab world, in a tour that went on for several months. Dora was the bright light of the family .She performed her distinctive songs with much glow on the stage, accompanied by Micheline and the rest of the family-band. The Bendaly Family returned from the tour, as proud and strong as the Lebanese Cedars, and brought glory to the Northern capital, Tripoli. The Bendaly Family is and will remain for years to come the symbol of Tripoli in Lebanon, and a shining star that will never fade.
مهما قيل عن عائلة بندلي بلسان صاحبة الجلالة هو أقل مما يجب قوله ومهما أسهبت ألأقلام في وصف التعابير تظل عاجزة عن قول الحقيقة تتكون عائلة بندلي من مجموعة مواهب كل موهبة تمتاز بالشفافية والأبداعات التى لا تنتهى وعائلة بندلي هي عائلة الأب الفنان ادوار بندلي والأم نعيمة بيطار "رحمهم الله" أنجبا عائلة لم يسبق مثيلا لها في العالم زرعوا في قلوب أبنائهم منذ الولادة حب الفن وحلقوا في سمائه نجوما لاينطفىء بريقها تسع فتيات وثلاثة أبناء وكل منهم أعجوبة فنية بل ظاهرة لن تتكرر وأنا على يقين وكلامي هذا ليس إطراء بل لأنني رافقت البنادله منذ إنطلاقها وكتبت لهم ما شاءالله من أغنيات ومسرحيات غنائية أذكر منها كاميرا 77 ومسرحية "فيست" وكانت هذه الأعمال نقطة إنطلاق عائلة بندلي الفنية الى البلاد العربية في رحلة دامت شهورا طويلة تزور كافة الأقطار العربية وكانت دورا بندلي نجمة العائلة تتألق على المسرح بأغانيها المميزة وكذلك ميشلين بندلي وباقي أفراد العائلة الفنية، وعادت العائلة من رحلاتها الى ربوع لبنان شامخة كأرزة وتوجت الشمال بإكليل الغار
وما زالت عائلة بندلي الفنية سفيرة طرابلس لبنان على مدى السنين ومصابيح مضيئة لن تنطفىء

The Bendaly Family was founded by the late Edward Bendaly whose vision and passion for his art elevated, alongside with his family, the Lebanese music industry to the pinnacle of new heights. He even proved his style to be an authentic genre in the times where the Rahbani style and the great Arab singers have already had their place in the fame and glory. The Bendaly family is the true essence of this nation, as important to it as a string on a lute.

One summer night in 1973, between 8:30 pm and 9 pm, when the Lebanese people were watching a show on Tele Liban (the Lebanese national TV), on the black and white screen, the screen of a vanished magic, an unprecedented scene: a band of young boys and girls, the eldest in the early twenties and the youngest of nearly nine, all members of one family, singing, dancing, playing and composing music, introducing themselves as “The Bendaly Family”. The enormous success and the wide fame of the Bendaly Family that followed their first TV appearance were no surprise. Newspapers and magazines rushed to the family’s house in Tripoli, interviewing and reporting on the 12 siblings who became “a unique phenomenon” and one of a kind in the Arab world… Many highly regarded journalists predicted that the band would achieve an international fame. In February 1975, the Bendaly Family performed for the first time as a professional band on the Clemenceau stage in Beirut (known now as Al-Medina Theater). They entertained for three continuous months amongst the admiration and astonishment of the Lebanese society. The unfortunate civil war came in the middle 1975 which stopped the family performances and force them to return to their hometown of Tripoli. The area where the Clemenceau theater stood turned shortly afterwards to a battlefield that was later one of the worst fighting spots of the “Two Years war”. The Bendaly Family was able despite the toughness of the situation to achieve a remarkable impact in the world of music, launching a new concept and relying on distinguished modern scripts and music with a definite identity, always following the oriental and Lebanese originality. The years between 1975 and 1985 were more likely to become the golden years in the Bendaly’s’ history that released, in 15 years, a great number of records and performances. The Bendaly Family accomplished a wide spread fame in the Arab world, and also visited most of the countries in Europe, Australia, North and South America, where the Lebanese immigrants live. They received medals and awards in recognition for their achievements. Few only know that the founder of this artistic family is the late artist Edward Bendaly, who always remained behind the scenes. He was born in Askala in Tripoli and studied in the Frere Institute, where his talent in music thrived. He took lessons on the violin and the piano and sought further knowledge in the musical domain to pursue his life as a musician. But luck wasn’t always in his favor: Edward was rejected in his first attempt to approach the Lebanese Radio Station in his thirties. Nevertheless, he kept on writing and composing until his forties, but the rejection continued. Edward’s revenge came in an unexpected way, by marrying Naema Bittar (the granddaughter of Nakhleh Katrib), the lady who carried the legacy of the artistic family and who had a magnificent voice and mastered playing the piano and the lute. They had a perfect marriage and the result was 12 loving children: Micheline, Dora, René, Yolla, Fadia, Nadia, Roger, Norma, Randa, Sonia, Hania and Fadi. All the children chose the road of art and studied music, despite that, they all pursued a good academic education. They decided in a moment of excitement to form a band and fulfilled their father’s long lost dream!
ذات مساء في صيف 1973 بين الساعة الثامنة والنصف والساعة التاسعة، كان اللبنانيون يتابعون احدى البرامح الفنية عبر شاشة تلفزيون لبنان... عندما ظهر على الشاشة الفضية شاشة الأبيض والأسود والسحر الذي لا يتكرر مشهد غريب مجموعة من الشبان والشابات أكبرهم في مطلع العشرين وبينهم من لم يكمل التاسعة من عمره، كلهم أولاد عائلة واحدة يغنون ويعزفون ويلحنون ويكتبون ويرقصون ويسمون أنفسهم"عائلة بندلي"لم يكن مستغربا ان تلاقي عائلة بندلي الفنية نجاحا ساحقا وشهرة واسعة من أول ظهور تلفزيوني حيث تقاطرت الصحف والمجلات الى بيتهم في طرابلس وأجريت المقابلات والتحقيقات مع الأشقاء 12 الذين أعتبروا بمثابة "الظاهرة الفريدة" والاولى من نوعها على مستوى العالم العربي... ويومها تنبأ صحافيون كبار أن تحقق هذه العائلة شهرة عالمية. في شهر شباط من عام 1975 إعتلت عائلة بندلي الفنية خشبة المسرح لأول مرة بشكل إحترافي وكان ذلك مسرح كليمنصو في بيروت. (أصبح اليوم مسرح المدينة) استمرت العائلة في العمل طوال 3 أشهر متواصلة وسط إعجاب ودهشة المجتمع اللبناني.غير ان اندلاع الأحداث الأليمة في لبنان في اواسط سنة 1975 عطّل عروض العائلة ودفع أفرادها لمغادرة بيروت الى طرابلس... وبعد وقت قصير تحولت المنطقة التى يقوم فيها مسرح كليمنصو الى مسرح دام لعمليات حربية قاسية شكلت واحدا من العناوين السوداء لحرب السنتين التى تحولت فيما بعد الى حرب الــــ 17 سنة في تلك الظروف العصيبة استطاعت عائلة بندلي تحقيق حضور ساطع في الساحة الفنية مطلقة شكلا ومضمونا جديدين معتمدة على نصوص والحان مميزة تحمل هوية واضحة وتحاكي العصر دون الخروج عن الأصالة الشرقية عموما واللبنانية خصوصا. ولعل الفترة بين 1975 و 1985 شكلت السنوات الذهبية في عطاءات عائلة بندلي التي أصدرت على مدى ربع قرن العديد من الألبومات والأعمال الفنية.لقد حققت عائلة بندلي الفنية شهرة عربية واسعة وزارت معظم المغتربات التى يتواجد فيها اللبنانيون في أوروبا وأستراليا والأميركيتين ونالت جوائز وأوسمة وشهادات تقدير. ولكن قلة من الناس تعرف ان "عميد" هذه العائلة الفنية الذي بقى على الدوام في "الكواليس" هو فنان الراحل ادوار بندلي الذي ولد في الأسكلة في طرابلس ودرس في معهد الفرير حيث برزت موهبته الموسيقية فتعلم العزف على الكمان والبيانو وسعى للتزود بالمعارف والتدريبات اللازمة لكي يواصل حياته كموسيقي ولكن القدرعاند ادوار بندلي حيث صدّته الاذاعة اللبنانية عندما طرق بابها أول مرة في الثلاثينات فاستمر في التأليف والألحان حتى العقد الرابع واستمرت الأبواب موصدة في وجهه!غير ان القدر اختار لأدوار بندلي أن ينتقم من حيث لا يدري حيث كان زواجه من نعيمة بيطار" حفيدة نخلة القطريب" ذات الأصالة الفنية وصوت جميل وبراعة في العزف عل البيانو والعود كان زواجا متكاملا وأثمر هذا الزواج 12 ولدا هم على التوالي: ميشلين- دورا- رينه- يولا- فاديا- ناديا- روجيه- نورما- رنده- سونيا- هانيا- فادي وجميعهم رغم حصولهم على تعليم جيد اختارو الفن ودرسوا الموسيقى وقرروا في لخظة حماس تأليف فرقة فنية وحققوا للوالد أحلام العمر الذي راح
The Bendaly Family is unique in the world of music and art. All of its members are siblings of artists parents who indulged themselves to the extreme in the world of art, and gave birth to “Boys and Girls” like a bouquet of tunes. They achieved through their children their dream of creating an artistic family, transmitting to them, by a natural gift followed up with study, their absolute love for music, their talent in singing and their passion for art. The family became a musical band by the encouragement and the persistence of their parents, who named their children after the musical notes; together they made a distinctive harmony. The family soon turned from being a small time band to a full time success, and established their quality talents to be among the great singers. They have consistently made a magnificent number of plays and shows, and published various classic and modern records throughout their 3 decades in the music industry. The family mastered many great songs to the great joy of the audience, and preformed the most spectacular concerts. Their songs became famous and they became the beacon of success in the sky of Lebanon and throughout the Arab world. The Bendaly family is a school of creativity that left their distinguished and remarkable signature in the world of art and music. I am proud and honored to have worked with the Bendaly family as a poet in the beginning of my career.
عائلة بندلي الفنية... تكاد تكون فريدة في عالم الموسيقى والغناء فجميع أعضائها أشقاء من أبوين فنانين مخضرمين أصيلين تعاطيا الفن حتى الأدمان فأنجبا "بنات وصبيان" كأنهم باقة من الألحان ، وهكذا حققا حلمهما بتكوين أسرة فنية نقلا اليها بالوراثة والدراسة حبهما للموسيقى وإجادتهما للغناء وعشقهما للفن من الألف الى الياء وبإصرار وتشجيع من الوالدين تحولت الأسرة الفنية الى فرقة فنية أسماء أفرادها بالهوية على أسماء النوتات الموسيقية فإذا اجتمعوا يؤلفون سمفونية وبسرعة قياسية إنتقلت الأسرة الفنية من الهواية الى الاحتراف والنجومية فتعملقت في زمن العمالقة وعلى مدى أكثر من ثلاثة عقود قدمت الأسرة العديد من الأعمال المسرحية والأستعراضية والكثير الكثير من الأغنيات الطربية والشبابية من كل المذاهب والألوان فأغنت.. وأبدعت .. وأطربت .. وأحيت الحفلات وإنتزعت الآهات وأصبحت أغانيها على كل شفة ولسان وأصبح جميع أفرادها نجوم لامعة أضاءت سماء الفن في الوطن العربي وفي لبنان.عائلة بندلي الفنية...مدرسة إبداعية تركت بصماتها الرائعة والمميزة في عالم الفن والغناء والموسيقى عائلة بندلي الفنية ... أعتز وأفتخر باني تعاونت معها كشاعر أغنية وكنت لا ازال في بداية الطريق
